Tools #2 (Part 2): Dice for RPGing

I reviewed the Flying Buffalo Dice in Part 1 as a fantastic RPGing tool. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll have to buy them right away. Nor does it mean you’ll have to pass on their benefits either if you choose not to get them. ----------------------------------------------------------------------  ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This Part 2 is aimed towards helping you get a working RPGing tool that functions in the exact same way as the aformentioned dice-sets, but using only a basic six-sided die (d6) and some charts! It’s 8 charts total, one per RPGing die from the previous entry. Again, all you need is: 1 six-sided die (1d6) Find the chart you want to use, roll your d6, and enjoy!  ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- In case you want to edit the charts without having to create a new set from scratch, here's th

Tools #2 (Part 1): Dice for RPGing

I've recently got a fantastic tool, which is ideal for any RPGer, be it as a GM or as a Lone Wolf. I'm talking about Flying Buffalo Dice. They're a set of six-sided goodies that bring numerous possibilities to your table. You can buy them online at FlyingBuffalo.com , and yes: they do ship internationally! ----------------------------------------------------------------------  ---------------------------------------------------------------------- There are two specific options (pictured above) which I definitely recommend: Grimtooth's Dice! (that despite the name, it is actually 1 die), and the Adventure Dice Set. Let's start with the Adventure Dice Set. OK, so there's a total of 7 dice for this set. You'll find: a hit location die, a treasure die, a corridor die, a reaction die, a weather die, a traps die, and a door die. From the names alone, you could say their use is evident. Here you have a visual guide of all of their icons (i.e. I took

Who's Eryssel?

Even though I decided to start exploring the world of RPG's and D&D a year and a half ago, I've had a very specific character in my mind ever since I was a child. She was inspired by all the fantasy tropes and ideas I grew up with and which I particularly liked. She was strong, courageous, and knew how to use a bow and arrows. She had no name, but that didn't stop her from being my ideal heroine. She sort of acquired a more defined form through video games, and even through music. But, it wasn't until I came across with paper and pen role-playing games that she obtained a defined identity.  ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Updated portrait, more info here ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The first time I sat down to create my own D&D 5e character, I knew it had to be her. After reading and watching a fair amount of guides and tutorials, some very specific elements suc

Tools #1: Fate/Fudge dice Oracle System

This is an easy oracle system that can help you when playing solo, or when you're GMing an RPG session. All you need is a pair of Fate/Fudge dice. If you don't know what that is, keep on reading! Do you have any Fate/Fudge dice (Fd’s)? If not, you can easily create your own. All you need is: Some ordinary d6 or six-sided dice. A black sharpie or any other permanent marker. The following chart.  ----------------------------------------------------------------------  Source: https://boardgamegeek.com/image/726115/paolo-robino ----------------------------------------------------------------------  It’s a cheap and easy solution that works just like the real deal! ----------------------------------------------------------------------  My example. As you can see, it's a simple process. ----------------------------------------------------------------------  Now, with your Fd’s ready, here’s the Oracle. You just need 2Fd’s for it. The meanings wou
